During the next week, from Monday July 26th to Sunday August 1st, the Elemental Evolution festival will take place in Turkey. The place to be is Mugla, near the city of Dalaman in the south west of Turkey. On the line-up plenty of Dacru artists. From Friday July 23rd to Sunday July 25th PsyColonia is organizing an open air event near the city of Cologne in Germany. The party goes under the name of Happy Hippie Birthday Open Air 2nd Part. The Ghent city festival is coming up fast now. So also the Freestyle sessions are coming up. Friday July 16th we have the kick off for 11 consecutive nights. All info can be found on www.dacru.be/freestyle.

In the weekend of July 2nd to 4th Sufi will be playing at the Symmetry festival which is taking place in Norfolk, UK. The line-up looks pretty good with other artists being Talamasca, OOOD, Laughing Buddha, Azax Syndrome, M-Theory, Dejavoo, Mr. Youth and many more. Flyers are out there for a new and exciting chapter of Nova's Incident open air. The 2010 edition will happen at the same location we have grown to cherish as one of the finest ones in Belgium! On the line-up this year of course many Dacru talent amongst which we see Lamat and F.F.T from Mexico. Also legendary Talamasca will make another appearance at a Dacru event. The progressive bunker is hosted by Eargasm this year, the chill out by Mindmelt once more. For now you can have a look at the flyer for full line-up. From Friday May 28th to Sunday May 30th the Spacedivers open air event is happening near the city of Graz in Austria. On the line-up we find some Dacru artists: Aquila & Bonas (for the first time in Austria!) and Sufi will be bringing their sets. For more information on the event you can always click here.

The next upcoming event for Dacru is a special one! During the Ghent city festival we will enjoy daily free electronic sessions. The venue is the 'Rabot', a historic monument where we have held some nights before. This time there will be 11 consecutive evenings in different music styles hosted by various Ghent based organisations. Saturday February 27th is the date for a next Trance Orient Express party in the legendary church at the Ruigoord domain just outside Amsterdam, the capital of The Netherlands. For this occasion Dacru is sending in the Sufi live act, accompanied by the Oonah & Bonas dj set. These last ones will be presenting the Essentials mix at the event and if you arrive early then you can also get your hands on a free copy! Party starts at 23h.

The Essentials release is continuing on its strong promo run. The Mexican magazine on electronic music and alternative lifestyle Trance It is giving it some attention in their latest edition. They even set up a competition to win a few copies. See below to visually grasp what it's all about.

Dacru Records will be presented at China's most important online radio that is dedicated to electronic music. Go to www.udancecn.com. We will get a full two hours during the Magic Garden Concept show. They will talk about the label, the artists, play some single tracks and also the Essentials mix will be aired in full. It will be on air on Shanghai time, that is Belgian (Central European) time minus 7 hours. Below is some more info about the exact times. Thursday should be the first chance to catch the show. We have also included the info in Chinese for all our Chinese visitors. A number, we are sure, that runs into the thousands :)

The local Belgian radio station Crazy FM will be airing Essentials Vol.1 mixed by Dj's Oonah & Bonas on Sunday January 31st. You can hear it between 23h and midnight Belgian time during the program 'Underground Alert' hosted by DJ Domi Rè. That's at 105.7 FM for Ghent and 105.2 FM for Eeklo.

Friday January 22nd DigiCult, Sufi and Nemesis are playing at the Digitale Reise party in Wuppertal, Germany. The event is organized by Derbuntekreis and for full info you can visit this goabase link.

Saturday November 14th Sufi will be appearing in London for the third time already. Seems like the hip crowd in UK's capital can dig his sound! This time the Psy-Mela crew invites him to play at the 'One Soul' event at Fire, near Parry Station. Other acts on the line-up include Atma, EVP, Spinal Chord and many more spread over 3 areas: psychedelic, progressive and chillout. Visitors will also be treated very well on the visual side of things with decorations by Global Village Productions and Psychedemon and visuals by Psytwin. Friday September 25th we are celebrating the new Ephedrix album 'Expander' with the official release party in the capital of Belgium: Brussels. On the line-up we see, of course, Ephedrix and a special guest coming over from France the legendary Talamasca! The night is completed with Aquila, Sufi, Oonah, Insula vs Sunstra and Ramses. There will also be plenty of visuals brought to you by CampAttack from The Netherlands and Ephedrix will make their special visuals set during their live act for the first time at a Dacru event! Sunday August 23rd the Aquila guys are organising a small and cosy open air gathering to spend your lazy Sunday afternoon, from 14h till midnight. The party got the name 'Afternoon in Trance' and is happening at Bar Motard, Vaarstraat 4 in Kaprijke. That's in the province of Oost-Vlaanderen in Belgium. The line-up consits of Aquila (live), Sufi (live), Ishtar, R'Deem and Bonas & friends. And the best news of all, it's free entrance!

Nova's Incident VIII open air 2009 will happen August 29th and 30th. The concept is known: 28 hours of cosy party time in an amazing location in the most beautiful part of Belgium, close to Liége, Aachen (Germany), Maastricht (The Netherlands) and Luxembourg. We have a main open air area offering mainly full on and oldschool goatrance, an indoor bunker area with progressive powered by Purple Snow and a chill out presented by Mindmelt. Some of the main line-up attractions are Khetzal, Kristian, Loop Generation and a big chunk of Dacru artists like DigiCult, Ephedrix, Aquila, Chronos, Sufi and more. The first weekend of September, from the 4th to the 6th is reserved for the Roenaissance festival in Italy! Also last year Dacru was represented at this amazing spot in the Alps near Bolzano and this year we are back with a nearly complete label presentation. Check their myspace for some impressions and if any way you can, then this festival is a must-attend! :)

Friday June 19th there will be another Trancedelica party in the city of Ghent in Belgium. Sufi holds a residency at these events, so now he will also be performing at this event dubbed 'The Gathering 2009'. The event will have 3 rooms: dark/oldschool, tribal acid/acidtek and progressive/minimal/psytrance/retrotrance.

With volume 5 coming soon, the Isratrance crew has upped a review of the previous one: Orientation Vol.4. Read it below:

 

It’s time for another compilation from Dacru Records concentrating on pure melodic full on. Most of these tunes sound massive, and when I mean massive I mean deep rolling bass lines with lots of shifts, huge melodies and a general feeling in some tracks of a newer Astral Projection. Lots of remixes here too, 4 of the 10 tracks are remixes. With most I don’t even know the originals, so I can’t go into a lot of detail here. Peace Maker’s remix to U-Recken vs. Nitro’s Eternity (T3), for example, is so massive and melodic that I can’t imagine the original being better. But, as I said, I never heard the original so I can’t really judge. What I like about this compilation is the fact that it manages to be melodic without becoming cheesy. The CD can bring a smile on your face, yet still retains a great psychedelic feeling throughout the tracks. The mastering brings this home too, Johannes Reigneir (Silicon Sound) has done a terrific job here, and his expertise in the full on realm can clearly be heard in the loving digital perfection he’s performed here. It was compiled by DJ Nemesis, who did a good job of making this sound like a DJ set. The tracks do have pauses between them but overall it still feels like a set. The prominent names here like Alternative Control, Gataka, U-Recken & Fatali should give you an idea of what this is all about. I’m not really going to point any favourites here because all the tracks have a certain edge to them. In this day of Israeli full on going bad with vocals and stupid experiments that don’t really help the music it’s refreshing to hear a full on compilation that does the job RIGHT. This is what this kind of music is supposed to sound like!

Recomendation:  It all boils down to this. Do you like your full-on with an edge, big basslines, great melodies and lots of drive to it? Don’t hesitate and get this. It has the edge you needs.

Another upcoming event we need to inform you about. It's a busy coming weekend for Sufi. After playing in Germany on Friday, he will be playing in Belgium on Saturday February 21st. The event is the Phaidon release party in Antwerp. Phaidon is a new deco concept by the Omicron team. Others on the all Belgian line-up include Bitkit (live), Ishtar vs Ramses, Strophoria and Tohm.

The next upcoming Dacru event will be a cooperation with Sufi. On Saturday March 7th we are inviting Headroom from South-Africa to come and play in Belgium's capital Brussels. Headroom's full album Artelligence is one of the most highly praised albums of 2008 and we are proud to present his live and dj set in our home country. The Mexican Trance It Magazine has just released another edition, number 49 already! They have included a few words on the Sufi album TimeWave Zero in the section named 'los discos' that's dedicated to new releases. A video from the Comsic Combination party turned up at YouTube. It's a sort of compilation video with fragments of Aquila and sufi playing their live acts. The party took place in the city of Leiden in The Netherlands. Watch out for volume differences.

Tomorrow, November 28th, is the release date for the compilation Goa-Cytopia v.1.2. This is a cooperation between Goa Records and the digital download website Cytopia.org. In the tracklist we see Sufi, not with an original track, but his Playground track remixed by Getafix. Read below for more info on the compilation.

Saturday October 11th the Venom crew is presenting a big event named Existence Celebration in London. This UK crew is going at it in secret location for 18h of music. Venom will be celebrating it's 2nd anniversary and also Cytopia.org, one of the sites where we offer our catalogue for digital download, is doing some festivities for it's 5th birthday!
The party will be setting up 3 different rooms being psychedelic, progressive and a chill out hosted by Liquid records. The Summer Celebration festival in Italy is celebrating it's 5th anniversary. For this special occasion they are coming up with a very nice line-up for August 2nd and 3rd. From the Dacru side we have Ephedrix and Sufi, both celebrating their first performance in Italy. And furthermore Burn In Noise, Metaphase, Acid Prophecy, Jimmy9, Matte, Akbal, Cyryllo and more. The location is set outside Bologna, in the north of Italy.

This year, for the first time, also our friends from the Amanita Muscaria crew are putting on an open air event. It will happen from Friday July 25th until Sunday the 27th. The location is a very nice piece of nature in the south part of Belgium. The line-up offers a long list of Belgian artists ranging through all different styles of the psychedelic spectrum. One week ago the Ecoexistence festival was taking place in Portugal. Dacru sent out Ephedrix, Aquila and Sufi to participate in this friendly festival at an excellent location. The DigiCult and Ephedrix release party in Amsterdam from April 19th has brought us quite a lot of new videos. You can check them out at Dacru's YouTube page. Thanks to Alex, Mathilde and Jochem for the new additions.

This coming Saturday June 7th Sufi will be playing live at the TwilighT party in Deurne, near Antwerp, Belgium. He's on the line-up with other Belgian live acts Bitkit and Whicked Hayo and dj's as Jibaro, Deem'on, Foose & Leech and more. Three Dacru records live projects will be taking part in the Ecoexistence festival that will be happening in Santarem in Portugal in the weekend of June 20th to 22nd. From Friday June 13th until Sunday June 15th the 'The Time Has Come' festival will be happening in Sweden. The organisation has prepared a very nice and diverse line-up with names as U-recken, Vibrasphere, Penta, Blisargon Demogorgon, Kluster, Gen.6 and many more. Of course also invited are some Dacru talents with DigiCult, Sufi and Nemesis. The festival will take place on the outskirts of Stockholm in a forest near a lake. We are staying true to the original concept: DJ Nemesis will provide a good mixture of top producers, new talents and of course with our own artists sprinkled all over. In August it's time again for our annual open air event in the most beautiful part of Belgium: Nova's Incident VII open air! This year we are going for the weekend of August 23rd and 24th to strike down in our amazing location near Liège (Belgium), Aachen (Germany), Maastricht (The Netherlands) and Luxembourg.
Not only the location is excellent, but also the line-up came together pretty well. Lots of live acts on the bill with Alternative Control (Serbia), Hydraglyph (South-Africa), DigiCult, Ephedrix, Aquila, Sufi, Melorix and Fraktophon. The dj list includes names as Daksinamurti vs Shivamoon (Germany & India), Kairon, Nemesis vs Oonah, Jimmy 9 aka Supernatural (Italy), Crispod (France), Psychic Om (The Netherlands), Sense vs Bonas, Strophoria, Dhartax and Smokonut. And as last year we also keep the progressive bunker running with sets by Cyryllo (Italy), Ishtar vs Ramses and Foose vs Leech.

This past weekend we had the Dissonant festival with on Friday the Belgian live special. Sufi was playing there along DigiCult and Aquila amongst others and there's a couple of short video's from his live act. Check them out below:

We are teaming up again with the Trance Mafia crew from Amsterdam in The Netherlands like we did about 1,5 year ago. That party then was a big succes and it called for a repetition. Of course we'll also repeat the bus trip leaving from Ghent and Antwerp in Belgium. If you would like to take part in that, then just write an e-mail to eskimo@dacru.be.
The reason for the event this time is to celebrate the release of two full albums at Dacru. First we'll have the DigiCult album 'Out Of This World' to be released March 6th and then we have the Ephedrix full album 'Far Away' due for release April 17th. As is in the scene worldwide, there is a lot of diversity in the psy-trance genre. More and more the scene is splitting up into four or even five pieces. People tend to only visit parties with their favorite style(s). However, one massive event in 2007 proved, despite all the difficulties, which we are all part of one scene, and nothing can break that apart.
2007 showed us that our scene is rapidly expanding. But the rising costs and the big number of parties in Belgium forced promoters to ask for higher entrance rates, or to set up collaborations, in order to split the investments. Also our problems in the past with the authorities forced us to organize events in a more legal way, what also caused more investments.
Nevertheless we are spoiled and every weekend we can choose from three or four parties, all focusing on a particular style. Kairoo Records and B2B, based in Antwerp, focus on full-on. They both hosted rooms/stages on two of the biggest dance events, with up to 20.000 visitors. The veterans have grown to appreciate the progressive style nowadays.
The well-respected crews of Purple Snow (with founder R’Deem) and Smiley Tribe are focusing on minimal/progressive and have
brought the biggest names to our country. In Ghent, one of the two trance centers in Belgium, progressive is also emerging in smaller club events.
For many years we had Kairoo Records providing us quality releases and EPs. In 2007 they released the well-accepted debut album of Bitkit called Logical. Nowadays Dacru Records and Suntrip Records are taking over. 2007 proved that they have more ambition than just organizing good parties. Dacru Records released the compilation Orientation Vol. 3, a very well accepted release. For 2008 we can expect a lot of this label, with the second release of Digicult and the debut album of Ephedrix.
Also newcomers Aquila and Sufi will release a full album later in 2008. On the darker side of trance we can expect the debut album of Wicked Hayo on Night Oracle Records. Suntrip Records is probably the only melodic Goatrance label nowadays on this planet. In 2007 this Belgium/France combo resulted in the rerelease of the classical Dimension 5-Transdimensional album and the debut of rising star Goasia. For 2008 they announce albums of Dimension-5 member Ra, Filteria and Merr0w. Furthermore I can only hope that we will see the rise of a mind blowing Belgium progressive act, but the future looks promising.
The biggest event in 2007 should have been the fifth year of existence celebration of the Kairoo Records label. Kairoo Records invited some of the major promoters in Belgium to host rooms with full-on, progressive, oldschool/nuschool/Goa, dark and chill out. The government, due to safety issues, canceled the event after it had started already.
The authorities ignored even a positive court advice, so the evening ended with hundreds of people invading the streets in Antwerp. But the event proved that there is still unity in our scene, and despite the big loss, we hope that Kairoo Records will emerge from it foundations.

The Ahimsa compilation is released for the benefit of India. This means that all the earnings from this project will go to two organizations that we have selected. The first one is the international Human Rights Watch. Half of the profits will go to their campaigns in India. The second organisation is the Belgian Sevapur. Human Rights Watch (HRW) is an independent non governmental organisation which opposes violations of basic human rights. HRW investigates and exposes human right violations and tries to hold abusers accountable. They as well challenge governments

Sevapur

Sevapur, located in Tamil Nadu in the south of India, is a small village built in the 60's. Lea Provo, a wonderful Belgian woman with
a mission for a better world, gave the poorest of thepoor 'castless' people a life in dignity through the birth of Sevapur. Now over 140 families are living in Sevapur; houses and streets are built and schools and a social education center are running as never before. Half of the profits of this compilation will go straight to the children of Sevapur.

The tracks where kindly donated as an act of solidarity by the artists and all the profit of this release will be donated to "Human Rights Watch" in India and to the Gandhian village at Sevapur in Tamil Nadu.
Daksinamurti came up with the idea of this compilation after shocking experiences in Pune / India in March 2007 where all 280 guests of a party where arrested on pure suspicion and were brutally treated by the police.
Ahimsa is a Sanskrit term, meaning non-violence. It is a rule of conduct that forbids the killing or injuring of living beings. It is closely connected with the notion that all kinds of violence entail negative karmic consequences.

Our new compilation 'Ahimsa' will be out in some weeks. It will be a charity compilation for the benefit of India. DJ Daksinamurti, who is compiling the cd, has finished the tracklisting of this double cd with tracks ranging from darker night time full on over twilight to melodic full on. The release will be a cooperation between Dacru Records and the Indian label Rudraksh records. You can check out the tracklisting below. And of course when we know about a fixed release date and other infos you'll be the first to hear about it. And we'll also provide some info on the two exiting organisations we will be supporting.

This past weekend the fresh acts at Dacru records Aquila and Sufi were playing at a Trance Mafia party in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. They performed their live sets next to well known Swiss producer CPU. You can check out a few pictures in our pictures section here on the website. Take a look in the folder '2007'.

We have decided to go along with modern times and make our catalogue available for digital download. The kind of downloads where you actually pay something to get the track in good quality and support your label and artists ;-).

Saturday November 10th the new talent at Dacru records is spreading its wings in The Netherlands. Aquila and Sufi will be playing at a Trance Mafia event at 'De Waakzaamheid', a famous venue in Koog a/d Zaan, which is situated very close to the Dutch capital Amsterdam. They will be performing alongside celebrated Swiss producer CPU. Also the party can count with 3 distinct areas, being the full on mainfloor, an alternative progressive floor and a chill out area. Our latest compilation Orientation Vol. 3 keeps on receiving excellent comments and reviews! The latest one we can find in the Mexican Trance It magazine # 43. If you are curious and should want to practise your Spanish, then you can enlarge the thumb to read it!

Friday September 28th two of the Dacru live acts are performing in Belgium. Both Ephedrix and Sufi are playing at the ¿Qué Pasó? II party. This party is taking place a cowboy village! Don't start imagining things, this is just to let you know that we've added a set of pictures from the recently passed Naked festival. We were present with plenty of people from the Dacru family: DigiCult, Ephedrix, Sufi, Nemesis, Oonah and Aquila! See the pictures in the apropriate section.

In 2007 the Naked festival will happen again in the watercastle near Cologne in Germany. The dates for this year are July 20th until 23rd. It seems the organisation is pretty fond of the Dacru sound, after they had already invited DigiCult, Nemesis and Oonah last year we are returning with even more people of the Dacru family! You can expect to see these guys from our part: DigiCult (live), Ephedrix (live), Sufi (live), Nemesis (dj), Oonah (dj) and Aquila (dj). Some more news about our summer party Nova's Incident VI!
The event will last for 28 hours! From Tuesday August 14th 16h until Wednesday August 15th 20h. And for this time we've got a more then excellent line-up ready for you: no less then 8 live acts and artists from 5 different countries.
The main open air area will take you through a spectrum of psychedelic sounds with Khetzal (live, FR), DigiCult (live), Ephedrix (live), Avigmati (live, FR), Melorix (live), Aquila (live), Sufi (live), Kristian (UK), DJ Chaï (FR), Kairon, Nemesis, Oonah, Matt Loraine (UK), Psychic Om (NL), Marvin Koala (DE), Bonas vs Darsim, Sense, Phoelix, Gnome vs Sjama'dan and Phanthomaz vs Arjuna.
The progressive bunker will see the likes of Sanka (live), R'Deem, Ishtar and Ramses.
We will also have amazing decorations provided by JoTho and Tony from the Amanita Muscaria crew and by our friends from the Mental Gymnastics crew. The Scouts from Mortsel will be building some great constructions as well.
And if all of this isn't enough yet, we're also working on some more surprises, so stay tuned!

We are quite early to announce this, but that's because we are making excellent preparations for a perfect party! :)

On August 14 and 15th of 2007 we'll be doing another Nova's Incident open air party in the south-east of our little country. A lot of names on the line-up are already known. For the main open air area we've got the following live acts: DigiCult, Ephedrix, Khetzal (fr) and Avigmati (fr). And a nice array of dj's: Kairon, Nemesis, DJ Chaï (fr), Oonah, Psychic Om (nl), Bonas vs Darsim, Sense, Gnome vs Sjama'Dan and Phoelix. And in the night time you will also be able to enjoy a cosy progressive set up with music by Sanka (live), Ishtar and R'Deem. More artists are to be confirmed but of course there's plenty of time for that. For now you should just keep the date free in your agenda!
