Friday October 28th Anada Tribe is organizing the We Are One festival in Berlin, Germany. In the weekend of July 9th & 10th it is time for the Fractal Gate festival. The festival counts with 3 areas. A main stage that will offer some very fine oldschool goa trance over the two days. A second stage will be hosted by Dacru Records and Naturall Productions on Saturday to bring you some of Belgium's finest full on! From our side you'll be able to see Aquila, Sufi, Oonah, Bonas and as an extra our newly enlisted project Topical Bleyage from Serbia! They will be playing in Belgium for the first time to present their EP 'Static' that we'll release just a few days before. On Sunday the second area will boost some fine progressive sounds. USA label Elephant Head Records have released a mini compilation in cooperation with Dacru Records. Basically they have re-released some Dacru tracks through free music portal and net label Ektoplazm. In Please Recycle Vol.1 you can find tracks by Lamat, F.F.T, Aquila, Chronos and Sufi. Please Recycle Volume 1 is the first in a series of releases compiled by Smoke Sign/PsychoActive of the newly minted Elephant Head Records based in Eugene, Oregon. The idea here is to take previously released tracks from Beatport and Psyshop and re-release them for free on Ektoplazm to give something back to the community and introduce listeners to music they might not have heard before. Working in partnership with Dacru Records, this premiere edition features a dazzling line-up of melodic full-on psytrance from F.F.T., Lamat, Aquila, Chronos, Sufi, Frenessy, and Smosh. Be prepared for driving bass lines, shredding psychedelic effects, and ecstatic melodies that will leave you tingling all over.

During the next week, from Monday July 26th to Sunday August 1st, the Elemental Evolution festival will take place in Turkey. The place to be is Mugla, near the city of Dalaman in the south west of Turkey. On the line-up plenty of Dacru artists. From Friday July 23rd to Sunday July 25th PsyColonia is organizing an open air event near the city of Cologne in Germany. The party goes under the name of Happy Hippie Birthday Open Air 2nd Part. In the weekend of July 2nd to 4th Sufi will be playing at the Symmetry festival which is taking place in Norfolk, UK. The line-up looks pretty good with other artists being Talamasca, OOOD, Laughing Buddha, Azax Syndrome, M-Theory, Dejavoo, Mr. Youth and many more. Flyers are out there for a new and exciting chapter of Nova's Incident open air. The 2010 edition will happen at the same location we have grown to cherish as one of the finest ones in Belgium! On the line-up this year of course many Dacru talent amongst which we see Lamat and F.F.T from Mexico. Also legendary Talamasca will make another appearance at a Dacru event. The progressive bunker is hosted by Eargasm this year, the chill out by Mindmelt once more. For now you can have a look at the flyer for full line-up. From Friday May 28th to Sunday May 30th the Spacedivers open air event is happening near the city of Graz in Austria. On the line-up we find some Dacru artists: Aquila & Bonas (for the first time in Austria!) and Sufi will be bringing their sets. For more information on the event you can always click here.

The next upcoming event for Dacru is a special one! During the Ghent city festival we will enjoy daily free electronic sessions. The venue is the 'Rabot', a historic monument where we have held some nights before. This time there will be 11 consecutive evenings in different music styles hosted by various Ghent based organisations. Saturday February 27th is the date for a next Trance Orient Express party in the legendary church at the Ruigoord domain just outside Amsterdam, the capital of The Netherlands. For this occasion Dacru is sending in the Sufi live act, accompanied by the Oonah & Bonas dj set. Befriended Mexican artist Farbo has released his first full album 'Far Beyond' last month. It is available for free download through the website of Canadian netlabel Ektoplazm Records. One of the 11 tracks on the album is called 'True Fantasy' and is a versus track with Sufi!

Dacru Records will be presented at China's most important online radio that is dedicated to electronic music. Go to www.udancecn.com. We will get a full two hours during the Magic Garden Concept show. They will talk about the label, the artists, play some single tracks and also the Essentials mix will be aired in full. It will be on air on Shanghai time, that is Belgian (Central European) time minus 7 hours. Below is some more info about the exact times. Thursday should be the first chance to catch the show. We have also included the info in Chinese for all our Chinese visitors. A number, we are sure, that runs into the thousands :)

The local Belgian radio station Crazy FM will be airing Essentials Vol.1 mixed by Dj's Oonah & Bonas on Sunday January 31st. You can hear it between 23h and midnight Belgian time during the program 'Underground Alert' hosted by DJ Domi Rè. That's at 105.7 FM for Ghent and 105.2 FM for Eeklo.

It's time for another compilation from Dacru Records. It seems only yesterday I reviewed volume 4 of this series, but hey, that was released almost a year ago already. Anyway, a new chapter in this ongoing series, which is again compiled by DJ Nemesis and again got a few well known artists and consists of massive melodic full on with no cheese added, thank you. No vocoders or lyrics here... Let’s give a short impression of the tracks. U-Recken kicks off with Stop Time, a delightfully deep stomper with a massive chugging bassline and a nice melody. Beatnik continues in that vein, but places more emphasis on the melodies, especially towards the climax. Great stuff that makes me feel like I’m standing in front of the ocean, partying my ass off on some beach party. On to Peace Maker (T3), that gives off lots of nice vibes as well. Krunch (T4) make Never End a lot deeper sounding in the 2009 version and it gets all the better because of it. Twilight is back after his debut and this track is just like his album. Atmospheric synth beginning that reminds me of that old Silicon Sound album, Pure Analog. Great track. It gets even more melodic when Ephedrix remix to Electro Sun vs. Brain Damage's Hypnotic Voices (T6). Big melodies, massive bassline, the works. Lamat & Smosh deliver one of the least melodic tracks on here, it’s nice for an in between tracks here and it has this driving feel to it, like a train that keeps going and going. Aquila & Sufi go massive again, but we’re used to that by now. It's acidlines all over the place in this one. Nice track, again, like the previous one it's not too melodic. It sounds just like Aquilla's album, although a little less massive, probably because they collaborated with Sufi on this one. Still, a good track. Finally, the CD ends off with Chronos, who delivers a massive melodic sounding track. It reminds me of Protoculture. I wonder what happened to him lately. Mastering is great, cover artwork smooth and colorful as always and it’s packed to nearly 70 minutes of music.
 
Recomendation:  And there you have it: this is great stuff. DJ Nemesis sure knows how to pick ‘em. If you like your full on melodic, fat and still not cheesy, you should definitely check this one out. I don’t have any downers here, but I do have favorites...

Saturday November 14th Sufi will be appearing in London for the third time already. Seems like the hip crowd in UK's capital can dig his sound! This time the Psy-Mela crew invites him to play at the 'One Soul' event at Fire, near Parry Station. Other acts on the line-up include Atma, EVP, Spinal Chord and many more spread over 3 areas: psychedelic, progressive and chillout. Visitors will also be treated very well on the visual side of things with decorations by Global Village Productions and Psychedemon and visuals by Psytwin. Sunday August 23rd the Aquila guys are organising a small and cosy open air gathering to spend your lazy Sunday afternoon, from 14h till midnight. The party got the name 'Afternoon in Trance' and is happening at Bar Motard, Vaarstraat 4 in Kaprijke. That's in the province of Oost-Vlaanderen in Belgium. The line-up consits of Aquila (live), Sufi (live), Ishtar, R'Deem and Bonas & friends. And the best news of all, it's free entrance!

Nova's Incident VIII open air 2009 will happen August 29th and 30th. The concept is known: 28 hours of cosy party time in an amazing location in the most beautiful part of Belgium, close to Liége, Aachen (Germany), Maastricht (The Netherlands) and Luxembourg. We have a main open air area offering mainly full on and oldschool goatrance, an indoor bunker area with progressive powered by Purple Snow and a chill out presented by Mindmelt. The first weekend of September, from the 4th to the 6th is reserved for the Roenaissance festival in Italy! Also last year Dacru was represented at this amazing spot in the Alps near Bolzano and this year we are back with a nearly complete label presentation. Friday June 19th there will be another Trancedelica party in the city of Ghent in Belgium. Sufi holds a residency at these events, so now he will also be performing at this event dubbed 'The Gathering 2009'. The event will have 3 rooms: dark/oldschool, tribal acid/acidtek and progressive/minimal/psytrance/retrotrance.

With volume 5 coming soon, the Isratrance crew has upped a review of the previous one: Orientation Vol.4. Read it below:

 

It’s time for another compilation from Dacru Records concentrating on pure melodic full on. Most of these tunes sound massive, and when I mean massive I mean deep rolling bass lines with lots of shifts, huge melodies and a general feeling in some tracks of a newer Astral Projection. Lots of remixes here too, 4 of the 10 tracks are remixes. With most I don’t even know the originals, so I can’t go into a lot of detail here. Peace Maker’s remix to U-Recken vs. Nitro’s Eternity (T3), for example, is so massive and melodic that I can’t imagine the original being better. But, as I said, I never heard the original so I can’t really judge. What I like about this compilation is the fact that it manages to be melodic without becoming cheesy. The CD can bring a smile on your face, yet still retains a great psychedelic feeling throughout the tracks. The mastering brings this home too, Johannes Reigneir (Silicon Sound) has done a terrific job here, and his expertise in the full on realm can clearly be heard in the loving digital perfection he’s performed here. It was compiled by DJ Nemesis, who did a good job of making this sound like a DJ set. The tracks do have pauses between them but overall it still feels like a set. The prominent names here like Alternative Control, Gataka, U-Recken & Fatali should give you an idea of what this is all about. I’m not really going to point any favourites here because all the tracks have a certain edge to them. In this day of Israeli full on going bad with vocals and stupid experiments that don’t really help the music it’s refreshing to hear a full on compilation that does the job RIGHT. This is what this kind of music is supposed to sound like!

Recomendation:  It all boils down to this. Do you like your full-on with an edge, big basslines, great melodies and lots of drive to it? Don’t hesitate and get this. It has the edge you needs.
